Chabad Rutgers' Brunch & Introduction This summer marked the first Chabad House at Rutgers  "Brunch and Introduction" to the Sephardi Community living in Deal N.J.

On Friday, August 24, 2018, more than 50 community activists and supporters gathered at the home of Solly and Pauline Assa in Deal, to see and hear first-hand the educational programs and activities of Chabad House at Rutgers.   The crowd was entertained by the opening remarks of community leaders Mr. Eddie Missry, and Mr. Yosef Assa.  They heard from Rabbi Moshe Malka, who leads a weekly Torah study group in the Sephardi Shul at Chabad House.  Rutgers Engineering Student Irving Hanon expressed his personal gratitude to Chabad, and asked everyone to help Chabad House bring its programs to the 7,000 Jewish students on campus.

All participants noted the success of the new Franco-Ashkenazi Sephardi Shul at Chabad, and that presently more than 200 men and women from the Deal-Brooklyn area have made Rutgers their school of choice.

Rabbi Yosef Carlebach, founding rabbi and executive director stated, "It is now our 40th Anniversary since we arrived at Rutgers, with the blessing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.  May we all be blessed to see continued success in bringing the light and love of Torah and Judaism to all our brethren."
